History of Delhi

New Delhi, the capital of India, is a bustling metropolis that beautifully blends modernization with preserved antiquity. Located on the west bank of the Yamuna River, its one of Indias fastest-growing cities. Designed by British architect Edward Lutyens in 1912, New Delhi was established as the new capital of the British Raj. The citys Victorian architecture contrasts with its modern high-rise buildings. Concrete flyovers ease traffic flow, while well-maintained gardens, Mughal tombs, forts, and monuments dot the landscape. The citys history traces back to the Mahabharata, an epic tale of wars between the Kauravas and the Pandavas over Indraprastha. Historically, Delhi has been a political hub, with various dynasties choosing it as their seat of power from the 13th to the 17th centuries. Old Delhi was established by Mughal rulers, each dynasty renaming the city. Delhi became the capital of independent India in 1950.

Culture of Delhi

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
