History


Karnataka, located in southwestern India, boasts a rich history that spans ancient civilizations, powerful dynasties like the Chalukyas and Hoysalas, and the grand Vijayanagara Empire. Witnessing Islamic rule and European influences, it later became a princely state under the Wodeyars and faced conflicts with British forces, notably in the time of Tipu Sultan. Post-independence, Karnataka emerged as a state in 1956 and has since evolved into a dynamic hub of culture, technology, and economic activity, featuring cities like Bengaluru and Mysuru.


Festival


Ugadi : Ugadi, also known as Yugadi, is the Kannada New Year festival celebrated in the state of Karnataka. It marks the beginning of a new lunar calendar year and is a time for joyous celebrations. Ugadi usually falls in March or April, depending on the lunar calendar. It is celebrated on the first day of the Chaitra month.
